A Brief History of the Hotel
The St. Joseph Royal Regent Spa Hotel stands on the site of a former spa residence for clergy dating back to 1889, then known as Kurhaus St. Josef. The jewel of this historic building was its private chapel dedicated to St. Joseph – the patron saint who, according to legend, helped heal distinguished spa guests who came here for treatment.
The hotel successfully built on this rich heritage in 2010, when it reopened in its modern form and began offering guests exceptional standards of spa care, wellness and gastronomy.
In July 2025, the hotel expanded with the opening of the brand-new St. Joseph Tower, bringing contemporary architecture, spacious air-conditioned rooms, private wellness facilities and an even higher level of comfort – while preserving the unique spirit of a place where history blends naturally with modern healthcare.
